Metformin - Side effects???

I have been taking Metformin for many years and not noticed any problems, but over the last 3 or 4 months I have been getting bouts of nausea, stomach ache, mild headache, a certain looseness and urgency for the need of the toilet, in fact everything which matches the side effects of Metformin ..
The question is, having taken them all these years with no problems, is it possible that I have suddenly become susceptible to the side effects???

Any thoughts???

This was the opening question and it would be nice if members could reply if they can help rather than sniping at each other.

To be honest, even if anyone on here says they had exactly this situation, in exactly the manner you describe, I'd want a decent check over of my plumbing. Whilst those symptoms could be attributed to Metformin, they could also be related to something much more serious and worrying. I have absolutely no reason to believe the latter is necessarily the case for you, but it's not a set of circumstances to gamble upon.

Good luck with it all, and for heavens sake, please don't wait all those weeks. You need answers before then.

Hi greybags, I have never taken Metforim, but looking at your symptoms I was wondering if it could possibly be a bowel/stomach condition such as IBS ? but obviously that would need a diagnosis from your GP and then an elimination process, but it is only a suggestion.
I do hope you can some relief very soon, take care RRB
