Metformin side effects

Ok, hi all..... So 6 days ago I got given the great news that I am diabetic, insulin once a day and metformin 2 tablets a day, today I have never felt so bad..... Sickness, nausea and headache from hell.... Please tell me that days like this are infrequent?

Hi. I assume you have been diagnosed as T1? Plain Metformin is known to cause nausea and bowel problems (not headaches) in some people so do ask the GP to change you to Metformin SR (Slow Release). Insulin rarely causes these side-effects.
