I am newly diagnosed diabetes type 2 the doctor prescribed these tablets for me I take one in the morning and one at night. The thing is since I started taking them two weeks back I have terrible side effects such as : chill with fever, a headache, every single part of my body hurts, and I have as diarrhea and as for the diet I eat what is available for me because I'm currently unemployed
Should I be worried about these side effects or they are normal and perhaps they will go away on their own?

I would ask your medical professional about the side effects you are having, they be able to advice you as many do seem to have side effects from taking Metformin.

If you're feeling horrid on it, ask for the slow release metformin, if you haven't been given that to try. And always, always eat with the met, because it gets that much worse then taken on an empty stomach. If after two weeks the side effects don't improve, don't count on it happening later, it's not very likely to.

https://josekalsbeek.blogspot.com/2019/11/the-nutritional-thingy.html works pretty well if metformin doesn't work out. The side effects didn't abate for me, so I went a different route. Diet's worked for these past 7 years.

Good luck, and I hope you feel better soon!
Jo
