I have been on 26 Units of Humulin in the morning and 16 Units in the evening since being diagnosed T2 four months ago. Initially I was put on insulin to protect the heart following a Heart attack.
Today they are starting to introduce slow release Metformin ( 1x 500mg) and reducing the insulin to 24 Units and 14 Units.
The plan is to keep increasing the Metformin and reducing the insulin each week until hopefully I get off the insulin and onto tablets only.
Does anyone have any experience of this and any advice of what to expect?
