Metformin...what if?

I'm sure there are others on here with other snack ideas.Personally I go for nuts, such as macadamias, almonds and pistachios etc, except peanuts and cashews which are high in carbs.

Hi

Still up feeling low and bg at 3.6

This seems to happen most nights

I had a late snack cheese and 3 lightweight cracker things

Hi Tw.

You may be over medicated, either that or things just need to settle down. If these really low levels persist you need to discuss with your GP ASAP.

We can give you loads of advice but if things aren't working as they should be then you need Pro help !

Ken.

I think that 8 before going to bed is for Type 1s on mixed insulin, a bit of a large safety factor built in!

Dawn Phenomenon can be tricky, sometimes paradoxically it may help to add a few *more* carbs either to your evening snack or to breakfast, just enough to turn it off without spiking you. Sometimes a handful of nuts washed down with red wine is recommended (no, not for breakfast!) some people do better with more fats in the mix, like cheese, it's basically something you have to tinker about with until you find your own best practice.

Timewarp, I have noticed on Metformin that my internal thermostat doesn't seem to be working as well as it should, hot sometimes, cold and shivery others.

Might be my age, though. (48)
