They don't know Liam they sent the wrong bloods to be tested they will need to be retaken when I see specialist on 3rd of Nov I will then need to wait a further 6 weeks for the results it's crazy. On Saturday my morning read was 7.4 then 4.8 before lunch then 14.7 before bed I get the feeling it's type 1 but without the consultants to confirm it's a waiting game. The worst thing is not knowing I don't mind about the meds as I'm epileptic also so I take meds everyday anyway
Don't let the hype about Metformin freak you out. Most people can take it without significant side effects - you may fall i nto that category. I can/t tell any difference between taking it and not. But don't expect it to have a significant impact on your blood glucose levels, It's not that effective. After a visit to my practice nurse today she told me my sugar levels are very high it's 8.2 which is worrying me now, and now I've been put on metformin which I have heard so many bad things about I'm finding this all stressful
How do I follow member or put a like on a profile I'm new to using forums but I'm finding this extremely helpfulhey Aaron187 welcome here
metformin is a good drug , but not all can take it , but most after the first 14 days have hardly any sideeffects
I've been diagnosed tyep 1 for a year and have stuck to a good diet and my job is physical so on that part I'm reasonably OK so for it to go up is what I don't understand the Dr said it was most probably my bodies reaction to an operation I had in February nurse said that was rubbish so my head is everywhere with the mixed information@snookie09 - Hi. Worry, Stress and Anxiety will only raise your blood sugars. Metformin is one of the first drugs usually prescribed for Type 2 Diabetes and it is tolerated by a lot of people - I have been taking it now for over 16 years. Just try to remember not to take it on an empty stomach, as it may cause some stomach upset. But, you will find that Diet and Exercise will have a much better effect on lowering blood sugars.
