Most types of tablets are best taken with food rather than on an empty stomach in my experience.
I am taking Sukkarto (the slow-release Metformin) as I had issues taking the normal ones. The advice (not easy to find!) in the leaflet says to take them with evening meal.

Matt have you managed to keep away from the tummy upset ?

I take the extended release and no longer have those issues

go and ask for SR metformin.. Slow Release..
might help but Metformin Gush does exist, despite GPs saying it doesn't.
the tablets sometimes group together in the gut and metformin irritates the gut lining...
so the body reacts by dumping fluid and glucose into the gut to shift the irritant.

If you have had back problems with nerve tweaks causing your back to seize up... metformin stops that..
stops the nerve/muscle chain reactions...
Mind you proper testosterone levels does it better if your male.

Should get better after two weeks. If it doesn't, it's not likely to. Make sure you take met with food, and if this continues and you don't have it yet, try the slow release version.
