Metformin

I had the same problem for about 8 months. I was on 3 x 500 metformin a day. If I knew I was going anywhere away from a loo I would start having panic attacks - especially on the tube in London! In the end the only way I could deal with it was to take a load of imodium before I went out - not ideal but at least I didn't embarrass myself! When I got my bs under control my doctor cut my metformin to 2 a day and the problem is much better. I still have the odd day when I have to make a dash for it but generally it is ok now but I always have imodium in my handbag - just in case! :)

Was at GP today and spoke to him about my problems with the loo and taking Metformin, he changed it to SR Metformin no problem. The only thing is I have to take 4 with my dinner thought that sounded a lot at the one time but we will see how things go, if it helps with the suddeness of having to go to the loo I will be happy.
