Metformin

Type II diagnosis confirmed on Wednesday and started with 500mg once daily initially...two tablets taken and experienced nausea (expected) but had chronic indigestion too...anyone else had this or just me? On this basis, NOT looking forward to that extra daily tablet in two weeks time. :?:

If the problem continues then do ask to be changed to Metformin SR (Slow Release) version which is much kinder

I take 3x850mg a day and i find i get indigestion if i overdo it on Carbs, reducing Carb intake seems to lessen the effects.

I take mine directly after food or with it..I know when first taking it can upset things but does settle..hope that helps

If I forget to take my metformin as my memory is not good..does it matter

Hi everyone,

I was pre diabetic on control diet but from beginning of this year my levels rose to 9.5% and staying on this level. My GP prescribe me Metformin once a day 500mg , 2 months ago. I know that is help me to manage my sugar levels but is that necessary ?
