I was just wondering if any other Type 1's are on Metformin , just been told that I will have to start it. Does it help a lot with getting better control and with your weight?

Hiya - I have been prescribed it as was suffering from insulin resistance to Levemir, and to be honest I tried taking it and after 3/4 days my stomach was in bits, I physically cannot cope with it. I am now on Tresiba and that seems to be doing the job, so will leave the metformin alone for the time being !

I've been taking Metformin for 15years (still on it) and went onto Insulin a year ago. Recently began taking Dapagliflozin and this tablet really works to bring down the HBA1C. Mine is now 71 and 2 months ago it was 78 = just before starting Dapaglifflozin. Going into Insulin a year ago, my HBA1C steadily increased over the year and I put on weight too with the Insulin.
