Miao Miao connectivity outside

I use libre censor with my iPhone and Miao Miao with tomato app. It seems the reading requires WiFi. If I’m outside tomato app doesn’t read the data. Is this normal or is this something to do with my phone data capacity/set up??

This is same for some apps on my phone. For example, when I’m outside I can still access this forum through internet homepage but DCUK forum app doesn’t work without WiFi ...

Do people have access to Miao Miao reading without WiFi and how ?

Hi,

Do you have Bluetooth connectivity with anything else "outside" like a car audio system??
Just wondering if your device is prioritising that over the MM..

I think no. For example I just went running outside today and tomato app shows a strikethrough bar across bs reading outside.

Maybe this is something you get when you have the cheapest phone data plan ..??

Your MM should still be connected to the phone. & the app by design should interpret the readings.

Has this been just today, has the MM slipped or come adrift from the sensor whilst running??
 
Ok thank you. It’s been like this for me for ages... DCUK app, bbc news app and others don’t work outside without WiFi... ?? I think I need to go and ask O2 why

I, personally, don't care for the App, so I use my phone browser, if I need to use my phone, but that aide, is the App set up on your phone to operate with data?

You can check that in Settings> Mobile Data, then scroll down until you find the App.

On an aside, your thread is prefixed for Gestational Diabetes. Was that your intent? If not, me, or any other Mod can change it for you, if you tag someone.
 
My tomato app setting for mobile data is set on .. My GD tag setting is an error. If you can remove it that would be great. Thank you

Looks like you may have data turned off? The tomato app. If it's like any of the other reader apps, shouldn't need a wifi (or data.) connection to read the data sent from the MM.. Just Bluetooth.

The others you mentioned would need either wifi or data connection to work..
