Hmmm, I once got accused of body shaming on here a few months ago. As far as I was concerned I was not body shaming but merely was making an observation. I had an appointment at the hospital, and after my appointment went into the canteen to get a coffee. I was surprised to see how many overweight doctors and nurses there were, considering the very same one (doctor) who was sitting at the table eating pie and chips advised me to lose some weight and eat a balanced diet. I have never been very obese but overweight, this was actually through eating the so-called healthy NHS diet. I did all the right things or so I thought at the time. Now, this doctor was very overweight himself and sitting at the table eating pie and chips. I got slated on here, with people saying "Oh they are busy people the staff work hard, have different shifts it's not right to body shame etc" I do not disagree with that, but there were many healthy choices in this canteen. I looked around me and many of the staff were eating Crisps, chips, pies, sausage rolls, chocolate etc. As far as I am concerned they can eat what they like, but what I did not like was when a doctor is telling me to eat a certain way and that I need to lose some weight, then only for me to witness him eating rubbish bad food that I never even ate before the low carb way of eating. How can you actually respect the doctor's opinion? Other patients who need to lose weight for health reasons, will feel the same way. Sorry but the medical profession have to walk the walk. Yes, they may have other things going on, but so have many people. That doctor knew my health conditions but did not stop him from advising me to lose weight and give dietary advice. I remember my sister looking after her husband's grandad, as he lived with them. He was not a well man but smoked, even though my sis asked him not to because of concern. His doctor told my sister not to let him smoke the doctor was very insistent on this. Two days later my sister caught the same GP smoking in his car. The medical profession have to set an example
