Mince pies

it's ok..I got some low GI sugar for xmas

I try to avoid polyphenols, and I don't like too sweet a food.
But, if you can't they probably are as good for you as anything that sweet.

It would be your call though, and I'd probably still try to avoid them, no one needs refined sugar.

I've never liked mince pie's, find them too sickly.

I like the taste but not the effect. Shan't be doing that again. Not worth it. Thanks for being so kind!

Can't promise but there might be low-carb versions of mince pies in the low-carb section of the forum or elsewhere on the net, a lady member called Whitbyjet use to often post low-carb cakes recipes in the low-carb section so you might strike lucky.

I did make some low carb ones last year, almond flour, soya flour mix for the pastry, selected dried fruit, and sweetener.
They were quite tasty.
 
Well I own up to having indulged in the odd mince pie and Christmas pudding - just wouldn't be Christmas without them. You can keep the chocolates and cakes - I really don't miss them at all. I am now looking forward to the New Year so that I can curb my naughty tendencies and be saint like once more ;-D

Made my own mince pies, almond flour,butter and egg yolk, filling walnut,chopped date, all spice. Only ate 2 or 4....... With a glass of red wine , bs 7.5 at bedtime ........
 
This year I was going to make ,but didn't , my own low sugar ginger cake ....low carb medium carb flour , personal choice ...
Topped with rubarb stewed with cinnamon ....let it go cold , put on cake and serve with whipped cream ....
Who needs mince pies ....but I will be making this for Easter now ....x

When I can eat again I will be making this ....the cake is made with olive oil .....that is the fat in the cake ....
I had such plans to make this for Christmas ...but there is always another day .....x yummie x
