Has anyone used mirtazapine been reading different bits of info on it and conflicting information about how it can affect BG levels? Have not started it yet used it before so know it will knock me out at night which is what i want but having enough trouble controlling my levels already with insulin and tablets.

Hi there! :D

I used to take Mirtazapine(zispin) 60mg but before I was diabetic so sadly I can't comment on effects on BG level but I can confirm it does indeed help you sleep and can eliminate the whole 'waking at 3am with a thousand thoughts whirring through your head' and does have a positive effect on depression and anxiety symptoms but I have to say that the downside is that the drug makes you very groggy in the morning and up until about the early afternoon(My wife compared me to Ozzy Osbourne) But the benefits outweighed the side effects quite a bit and I would personally recommend Mirtazapine from my point of view.

Best regards

Yep I know it does wonders to make you sleep was on it for a bit last year but didn't help anxiety very much but willing to try again more just to get some sleep.

Hopefully it will not mess up my levels too much.
