Missing basal

I am taking tresiba at present since lantus caused a lot of low sugars. Its almost 2months since i started tresiba. I usually take it in the evening. Today i could not remember if i took my basal. I think i did not take but i am not sure. I am afraid of taking twice & suffer nocturnal hypos. I checked my BG now before bed, its 160 mg/dl, quite high for me than usual.... Will missing basal a day matters much?? Tresiba has a coverage for 48 hrs, so may be if i take tmrw aftnoon, there wont be any problem i hope.... Looking forward for any replies...

Hi Debbie. I'm sure we had this thread before? Maybe it got corrupted?

Anyway, don't risk double dosing the basal. Just test frequently and correct with fast acting insulin (no more than every 4-5 hours), then take your next basal dose at the normal time.

Agreed we have all had those "Did I take my injection moments" (I usually ask my wife :p) I would agree with Spiker don't risk it simply test regularly and correct if needed. If you really want to be sure just have a low carb day. Annoying but not the end of the world.
