Over the last few days I've had several posts just vanish! :thumbdown:

I suspect there's a problem with the server that the board is hosted on, so I thought I'd better mention it.

I had that problem last week, but it was me doing it wrong.

I would type a reply, press send, and not realise that someone else was sending at the same time. A red warning comes up to ask if I want to re-consider my post as someone else has posted since i started typing. I didnt realise that, unless i pressed Send again, my post would disappear.

Could that be what is happening to you?
 
thanks Lucy, but this is a different problem. It's actually telling me the post has been made, but when I check back, it's gone!

Even though it flashes up that your post as been posted successfully it may not have quite sent it to the server, this only happens when this page automatically returns to the thread page!

If you press index or use the browser back button, this disrupts the send of the information to the server, so it doesn't get saved onto the server.. It's only when you see the thread page again that all information has been passed over and saved
 
It is also possible to hit the SAVE button instead of the SUBMIT button, Ive done that a couple of times :lol:
 


As Joper says this is the likely explanation for your lost posts and one that has lost me a few posts when I first came to the forum.
