Thank you all for your comments. Funny enough I'm far away from my target weight still, still want to loose 3 to 4 stone.
Regarding the Newcastle diet, I think having next to no fat anymore made my pancreas expel fat clogging, which helped ‘wake up’ my insulin producing cells.
This evening, again amazing - I had a reading about 160 shortly after my main meal, some hours later, down again to 122 for the night.
Used a dosage of 10 units insulin and will wake up with roughly the same reading. The last two weeks it happened that I did not use any insulin on two different days because my readings were between 78 and 120 all day.
I'm very happy so far because my last GFR-MDRD ( kidney ) was as bad as 62 already, should not become more worse.
