Very well done. It is amazing what losing weight does. I lost 5 stone and my BG levels are now normal from an HbA1c of 10% (ish). This return to normal happened within a couple of weeks of starting my low calorie diet. As you continue losing weight make sure that the HCPs adjust your medication appropriately (this may even mean stopping insulin).

Have you worked out how many calories you are eating per day?

Have a read of the newcastle diet that will explain this better than me

Well done.
I'm not an insulin user, but low calorie lost me 4 1/2 stone, and my BG is now at a normal level.

Thank you all for your comments. Funny enough I'm far away from my target weight still, still want to loose 3 to 4 stone.
Regarding the Newcastle diet, I think having next to no fat anymore made my pancreas expel fat clogging, which helped ‘wake up’ my insulin producing cells.
This evening, again amazing - I had a reading about 160 shortly after my main meal, some hours later, down again to 122 for the night.
Used a dosage of 10 units insulin and will wake up with roughly the same reading. The last two weeks it happened that I did not use any insulin on two different days because my readings were between 78 and 120 all day.
I'm very happy so far because my last GFR-MDRD ( kidney ) was as bad as 62 already, should not become more worse.

I think the only thing anyone could say, is, keep doing what you're doing.
It's certainly working well!
