Mmmmmm Black Pudding !!!!!!!!

Does anyone else on here just love black pudding ??????

If so what make do u buy and how/what do you eat it with ??????

I love Black Pudding too......get mine from my local butchers. Unbranded. Tastes delicious if you like that sort of thing. Not too much though as whilst it is fairly low carbs, it is also quite fatty.....not really what I should have with Cardio problems. A nice treat a couple of times a week for me.

I usually eat it with a 'Full English', no bread, beans or hash browns etc. Best pudding I have ever tasted is one I had in Scotland recently from a butcher's on Skye. Supermarket stuff is usually pretty bland and not worth comparing with the home made type pudding !

Black pudding, blood sausage, white pudding, haggis - bring it all on!!!

I've recently found Haggis at Tesco for £2 - great with cheese sauce. I just grate some Leerdammer cheese into a bowl with some double cream and slam it in the microwave for a couple of minutes.

Think I'll have that for tea tonight...
 
Likewise everyone, I love black pudding!

Couldn't care less what goes into it, but as I only eat it once a while, I can live with the added fat. I don't much care for supermarket versions, and buy mine from my local butcher where he actually gives you a choice of with or without the fat. Like Patch, love haggis too, but again the butchers version is far superior to the major supermarket chains.

I love mine with a full english and toast, but has anyone noticed that when you drink a mug of tea after a fry-up, it always tastes nicer than after any other meal, can't explain why but it does, must be the grease! :shock: :twisted:

Black Pudding is the best ever. Not sure where you live but if you can get hold of either Irelands Black Pudding (they are based in East Lancs) or Bury Black Pudding then you will never eat another basic pudding. I have found that they are best fried (how unhealthy is that - but who cares as once in a while wont kill you?) If you put a mustard sauce on them then they make an ideal dinner.
 
Just for balance, I wouldnt touch it for a gold watch, just the thought of dried blood makes me feel sick, never tried it and never will. Its obviously a Marmite thing :lol:

The Bury Black Pudding Co is my personal favourite (£0.99 for 4 slices in Asda).

I normally have it every weekend as part of my full English breakfast treat.

I love haggis too and can't wait until they are in season again

I love it too but it spikes my Bg levels. I am wondering if it would help to toast cheese on the top? Any thoughts :?:

Well, it's either cheese or no haggis just now - and I do love my haggis. If you don't let on neither will I but the point is would it work I wonder :?:

I don't think I'm going to tell you anyway in case you report me to the haggis police! :lol:

I came across this pic of the Haggis Police in action agains one young miscreant......a Cheese eating Haggis.......justice was swift !!! :shock:

Just told OH about the threats and he reminded me about a delicious lunch we had a wee while ago in a restaurant nearby. We had a haggis bake which was chunks of potatoes, onions and haggis in a cheese sauce with grated cheese on top and grilled to make it lovely ,crunchy and golden. It was scrummy but as it was pre-diagnosis perhaps an experiment is called for! All in the interests of science and research of course! :roll:

He wasn't bothered about me being threatened incidentally - just laughed! :roll: :shock:
 

Haggis shooting season starts this weekend, I'm heading up North on Saturday to bag a couple, just say if you want one sent to you, I won't charge you as a fellow forum member, but I'll expect you to cover the P&P.

Just had the most amazing thing lol, if anyone has ever been to the Isle of Arran (they are very lucky people) they will no doubt have heard of Arran cheese, try taking a few slices of Black pudding and put a slice of the well known Arran Mustard Cheese and throw them in the grill.

Black pudding + Arran Mustard Cheese = A slice of heaven :lol:
