I'm thinking of getting one of these magnet thingies that are supposed to help period pains. Any of you used one? Does it really help?

It's not that I get bad pains - more that I get mild ones and forget/don't bother to take anything. But by the end of the day it's worn me down and I wish I'd taken something. I'm thinking, unlike paracetamol, MN8 wouldn't wear off after 4 hours, just put it on and forget it.

The makers confirm its fine for diabetics to use. But whilst googling for their webiste I also found sites rubbishing them (and magnets in general), mostly because people can't explain how they work. That doesn't mean it doesn't work, after all bumble bees "shouldn't" be able to fly. Maybe MN8 is a case of not having found the reason yet.... but still I wonder if its quackery?

So I'm sitting on the fence at present... and it's getting uncomfortable up here on the fence!!! Look forward to hearing any experiences to help me decide.

Never tried these, bit late now! but I do wear a magnetic bracelet for arthritis.Does it help? I don't have pain in my fingers so much ,that's for sure, but whether it is the bracelet, who knows!!
Have you tried other things such as tonic water? (contains quinine which helps with the cramps)

TBH Littlesue I've just watched that advert and for £19 it's not worth it!! I think you could just get some of those magnets that florists use, they are pretty powerful and try it out.A lot cheaper!!If it works, fine,if not then you have not wasted all that money.

That's the snag sue, not so bad paying £19 if it really works, but if not its a huge waste.
Good idea about the quinine, I'll try tonic water and the ordinary magnets.
Thanks

depo-provera I find works very well... bit more long term and more other effects than magnets though!

My ex used to take heavy duty painkillers. She did find that Evening Primrose Oil helped, with her appalling mood swings as well <ducks flying objects>

I don't think magnets can really help PMS. Exercise( to boost circulation) OTC painkillers, viamin B, evening Primrose. All these have claims made for them.
I go by: if it doesn't cost much, I'll try it. But I'm nearly 62 now so this case no longer applies.
I used to find a hot Marmite drink quite effective. Warm and comforting and FULL of VIt B and I love the taste. Low carb too.
