Moisturising eye drops?

Can anybody recommend some safe moisturising eye drops for those with diabetic related eye conditions just for general day to day use?

I don't know about diabetic use, but I suffered from long term acute iritis and am still prescribed the Hylo-Forte drops that I was eventually given to keep my eyes lubricated. They're preservative and phosphate free, and I've used them for nearly 20 years years without any problems.

I've seen them for sale on both eBay & Amazon, so I assume they're not limited to prescriptions.

I didn't know that there were any that weren't OK for diabetics?

I have a (supposedly non diabetic) eye condition where the surface of my eyes gets scratched easily and use lacrilube (an ointment) if it gets really bad, as I totally fail to apply drops properly,
