I just love to treat myself with a luxury coffee. Since Costa is at the end of my street, this kind a got out of hand. I noticed spikes in my bg after enjoying my latte with sugar free gingerbread syrup and dips in my empty wallet. So I've bought a bottle of this syrup via Amazon. Hello comfy coffees, bye bye empty wallet. But my spikes are still there. Even lattes made with carb free almond milk, carb free soy milk or carb counted (and bolused) whole milk. The nutritional info says it's 0.6 carbs per 100 ml, I use 30 ml in my coffee. The sweetners used are sucralose and acesulfame.

Does anyone else has this while using sugar free syrup? Or is it my bg just being a nuisance? Oh and by spiking I mean it goes 3 points up.

Sorry @Ineke but can you clarify what you mean by "3 points up". Is this a rise of 3mg/dl or 0.3mmol/l (or even 3mmol/l which is unlikely but.....)

Poor grammar, bullying and drunks.
If a treat has 'got out of hand' then it is no longer a treat.
