Having contacted 'input' on my search about meters etc, but they have told me that I do NOT have to do home testing whilst taking metformin. Please can someone give me a definitive answer before I go and she'll out for a meter, I not to mention the extortionate prices for test strips. Thank you in advance

Hello,

I was part of a thread recently where a lot of T2D's were recommending the SD Codefree. It's initial cost is fairly small and more importantly the test strips are the cheapest out there I think. Once I can find the thread I'll tag you in it so you can have a read. I think there was also discussion about still testing for your own piece of mind and ability to track your progress.

The Amazon link is just for your reference, but it may even be cheaper elsewhere. I'm unsure of it's capabilities as a blood glucose meter but judging by the amount using it, it must be fine.
