OK, after the overly salty Macadamias from Morrissons I bought some from Asda, raw and unsalted! A packet I picked up in the wholefoods section has a CHO count of 11.4g per 100g, then I saw some in the homebaking section with a CHO count of 4.1g per 100g. Both ingredients listed Macadamia nuts and nothing else, both were raw and un salted? How so???

I got the lower carb ones but to be honest they didn't do it for me, the Morrisons were nicer after I washed the salt off.. :(

I'm going to try the Lidl ones just to make sure I'm not missing out! Then I'll give up.

This is starting to sound like goldilocks and the three bears...

The Morrison's macadamias were much too salty, the Asda Macadamias were not salty enough, but the Lidl macadamias were.......

Have now tried the Lidl ones and am still not overly impressed. My fave so far were the Asda raw and unsalted ones with a bit of 85% choc, seems like a right treat that!

Hi Doczoc,

I'm not sure that you'll find high quality macadamias in any of the supermarkets.
Do you have a local independant health food store?

They'll likely be more expensive, but worth the extra cost.

Regards,
timo.

I've been getting the roasted and salted ones from Julian Graves. They're BOGOF on the 200g packs at the moment!

Slightly off-topic but the brazil nuts from Asda are superb. 2.1g carbs per 100g of weight. Taste great too.

It does make me wonder how they calculate the carb figure for some products :? Brazil nuts from Tescos are 3.1gms carb/100gms.Are some Brazils more equal than others.
