More than usual escaping when the needle comes out?

So I just pulled out a pen needle, and quite a bit of insulin seemed to come back - it kind of squirted back rather than the usual tiny bead that I get.
I'm not sure if it was actually more volume or just squirted at high pressure.. it certainly seemed like more!

Does this happen? I have a lot of scarring and although I don't inject on them, I wonder what structure it takes beneath the surface

When you inject, keep the needle in the injection site for 5-7 seconds before you retract. Place the tip of your finger over the site and gently massage the area to close the entry point and ensure the insulin is absorbed. I sometimes have the same problem with insulin escaping. It is damned annoying as you can't simply inject more insulin to counter the wastage. Not a good move!!
 
Thanks.. yeah I think that might be what happened. Have had ridiculously high bgl today.
Very annoying as I've been trying to get a good reliable food/insulin diary going on to calculate a personal ratio next time I see the D Team... but every day some weirdness seems to disrupt things!
