Type 2 Morning BG levels

I went to bed last night with a blood level of 4.8
Woke up this morning after a good nights sleep up in the night only once after 5 hrs . Got up after 7 hrs and my level was 6.1 . Is this normal or is something else goin on . If so how can I stop it

Yes it is perfectly normal that ones blood glucose is raised a bit in the mornings due to liver dumping more glucose into the blood from the reserves one has in the liver
