Type 2 Morning blood sugars

So i go diagonised a year ago no tablets diet controled. Last two tests have come back normal non diabetic after losing 4 stone. My question is then why when taking my blood sugars in the morning it reads 6.3? Im still confused

A reading of 6.3 mmol/L would be equivalent to 38 in the HbA1c (ifcc) range, which is non-diabetic.
My fbgs are usually around 6.3 too.

Well done on your 4 stone weight loss last year and reducing your levels. This is an amazing achievement to push back the disease and the risks of complications.

Hba1c test gives a crude average so it will not reflect your highest levels. I have never been diagnosed diabetic but my FBG was 6.7 this am. After gentle exercise and pre lunch and dinner l am in the high 4's

Your meter could be reading high and you could test this by requesting/purchasing a control solution.

Now you will have to decide if you can, using the tools on this website/forum, do anything more to try and get your FBG lower.
