Morning reading

More likely to be the Dawn Phenomenon pushing your blood sugars up to get you out of bed (happens to almost everyone although yours is a bit high). Then as the day goes on it's coming down naturally. That's assuming you are T2.

I am t2 yes. Yep during the day it drops.

I agree with @bulkbiker It won't be the Metformin. It sounds like Dawn Phenomenon, which is when the liver dumps stored glucose into the bloodstream when we wake up (and at other time). Because yours is quite high, it shows you have a lot of insulin resistance.

May I suggest you complete your profile settings and add your type of diabetes, treatment and medications? This will save everyone having to ask each time you ask a question. Your type of diabetes will show under your avatar. Without us knowing these details, it is possible to receive inappropriate replies.

Yeah for sure it’s almost certainly dawn phenomenon. Combination of systemic - and perhaps especially hepatic - insulin resistance. The liver is supposed to secrete glucose on demand. One major demand time is just before waking. It secretes the glucose as requested, but doesn’t stop doing so in the presence of rising insulin. Additionally your whole body is also resistant and so cannot effectively use the glucose that the liver is pouring out with gay abandon. It’s like rolling a boulder down a snow covered mountain, then running after it and trying to rugby tackle it. More often than not, DP is the very last thing T2s get under control. It can take time and dedication depending on individual circumstance.
