Morning sickness

Hi,
I have always had a problem with the above, right from being a child!(am now nearly 60). Eating early in the day, and brushing my teeth too early often spark it off but sometimes it's spontaneous. Not every day (except when I was pregnant and my BS was high during the first one).Unpleasant but bearable! However, I wondered if it could be the result of high BS? Has the diabetes been lurking all those years and not been detected until now perhaps? Or maybe it's nothing to do with it? Any ideas? Obviously now I wait till I feel all risk of vomiting has passed before eating and taking my medication.

I get morning sickness (nothing to do with pregnancy!) when I wash my hair  On the mornings when I do it I take two ginger tablets as a precaution. Then after, if I still do feel sick, I drink a tot of naval rum (husband was in Royal Navy) as there's always some in the house and it seems to do the trick. It's a good excuse to have a treat too :) It doesn't seem to be connected to my BG levels.

I've had morning sickness since I became a diabetic and have found the worst thing about being a diabetic is the fact I am forced to eat breakfast now.
I just blamed the metformin (after weeks of worrying I was pregnant!) but if you've had this all of your life maybe it's linked to your body not coping well with changing position? Or dodgy hormones.

Hormones ah the bane of my life! The joys of being menopausal eh? I have seen the GP since posting this and he found blood in my urine. That plus the morning sickness means he has sent a sample off for testing and prescribed antibiotics for the UTI but wants to know the underlying cause as I have had several UTIs before and they did once find protein in my urine. Didn't rally explain his concerns but I now realise it must be to do with kidney function and if or how that has been affected. The DSN had already said I had been diabetic for some time before diagnosis the GP said i had been years. Trying not to worry too much and just wait patiently for the results!
