Morning sugar level

I am not on medication. I find a lot of forum members asking about morning sugar level problems are on medication. My highest daily reading is the fasting one about 7.30am unless I eat something I shouldn't do the night before such as tonight when I have had a really good week so have had a treat with a plate of chips and some home made turkey burgers. Anyone got any comments for those of us on diet only with high levels in the morning? I am only round about 7.4 but would obviously prefer it below 7.

Thanks for that Sue, will try it. Thought I'd cracked it with a glass of red wine but need to experiment more. NO I am not saying that, as I must admit I am partial to red wine, don't drink anything else, but from the lower morning reading.

Hi
You probably already know this but everyone is insulin resistant in the mornings including people without diabetes, another thing you could try is 30 mins exercise before bed as it will make your metabolism work harder and should theoretically help lower you morning BGs.
