Does anyone have recommendations to how I can protect my T1 DD from mosquitos while we travel?

I find taking 1 antihistamine a day for 10 days before travelling and continuing to take 1 a day whilst in another country cuts down DRAMATICALLY how much I get bitten, they love my blood and I used to be covered but now I only get maybe 1 or 2

Thanks Chris. Did it work for them? I think (hope) I ordered the right one. My DD likes the thought of adult smelly cream instead of smelly medical one so let's hope it works. Promise to update post.

You're prob right @tim2000s but if I can make her life easier in any way and reduce irritations - it's worth itShe reacted badly to bites pre the T1 so I want to be prepared.

The antihistamine trick works very well. I don't go as far as @Mrsass , I just start taking the one a day tablets on the outbound flight. Now that I spend longer overseas, I just take the tablets for a few days until I start to take on some colour. Bizarrely, the mosis don't seem to like biting tanned skin so much. I'd speculate it gets a bit tougher with the tan. I know, I paint a lovely picture.
I don't know how old your daughter is, but it might be best to check she's suitable for the tablets, if you think they might be a go-er.
There really is some interesting info about Diabetes and B12...Dr Google throws up this, and lots more; http://www.nhs.uk/Conditions/vitamins-minerals/Pages/Vitamin-B.aspx#B12
