On New Years night schedule, there was a series of programmes on Motown.
There was the backstory behind the Motowns Artists first trip to the U.K., Including the one I went to see as a teenager.
There was the now repeated, Marvin Gaye in Montreaux.
And for my name sake a tribute to Lamont Dozier.
Not just for his hits with the Holland brothers songwriters at Motown but his song writing after as well.

Of course the beeb just don't get what soul music is about and flaunts British versions of his songs, which sometimes is really embarrassing. Why they just didn't use original versions is baffling to me.
Plus, he produced, any number of hit records for other labels, which he voiced himself.
Lamont Dozier was a genius in song writing, lyricist, composer.
He died a few months ago!

By the way, as I couldn't post on the other covers thread.
The best version of Please Mr Postman was done by a group called The Originals @JTL ,

Best wishes
