I have been on Mounjaro for about 6 months and Rebelsus before that and one of the side effects I have had is sulphur burbs or eggy breath as I call it. Has anyone found a way of controlling it or something that breaks the gas and keeps the smell at bay? The other side effects I seem to get is frequent urgent trips to the bathroom. Build up of gas like a stitch which is followed by diarrhoea

Same here Sulphur egg burbs ,constipation and gas. Usual mid day Sulphur burbs go away but I'm waking up early morning with stomach bloating and starts again. I'm going to change some eating habits to see if that's the issue. tums doesn't work for me.

I have asked for a dietitian referral to get some advice

I would simply stop using Mounjaro. But that's just me...

It would be interesting to know what your blood glucose readings are when this happens. This used to happen to me when my readings rose rapidly for whatever reason.

My bloods have not been great hovering around the 10 mark. Never thought of testing when having a bout of the burps. Although mainly when I get up is when I get the most gas

That might be the additional dumping of glucose into the blood by the liver. A kind of leaveover from primeval times. You wake up in a cave and are immediately supplied with extra "fuel" preparing you for any outcome including predators.

I’ve just started Ozempic and get the sulphur burps with awful nausea. Gaviscon liquid is quite good at calming the burps down

I use pepto bismol for sulpher burps but I went on chat gpt put in my symptoms and lifestyle eg I'm vegetarian it gave ne great advice. Haven't had them since. Main thing was to cut out cauli, broccoli sprouts onions and to eat carrots and a few peas for a while then slowly reintroduce veg in small portions and it worked. Had cauliflower cheese and a few sprouts recently no issues. Also I used to love lots of onion gravy with my meal but don't have onions and just a little gravy. Hope this helps.
