Hi everyone

I have had my arm twisted to go to a team Christmas meal. Only problem is it is at 7pm I usually do tea at 5pm?

What do I do?

What type of insulin regime are you on? Twice daily, MDI or pump?

Fast acting insulin (novorapid) 3 times and slow acting insulin (lantus) 1 time a day.

Do you carb count? if so I would just count and inject as normal (abit later than the normal time)

I see no problems then. If all your doses are correct you should not hypo unless you're doing any exercise etc

Can't see how moving 1 meal by 2hrs would make any difference really. Just inject later and enjoy your Xmas meal.

One of the main attractions of basal/bolus is that you can be flexible when you eat, having your meal 2 hours later isn't a problem but you may want to monitor your bg just the same.

Enjoy your xmas meal kms1985
