Multiple Conditions

I have Sleep Apnea, Genetic Haemochromatosis, Anemia and now Type 2.

All of the conditions are being treated except the anemia which I hope is the result of an eight weekly donation to the blood transfusion service, for this I see a specialist in October.

My problems is that all the time I'm tired, sometimes exhausted and I get random dizzy spells. I'm 63 and work full time.

It's early days with the type 2 treatment ( I see my doctor tomorrow for the 2nd time since diagnosis) so my question is, does anyone else share some or all of these conditions and get the same problems

before I was diagnosed my doctor thought I was anaemic and was treating me for that until he realised it wasn't getting better...turned out to be diabetes all along :')

I had the same problem.. I was backwards and forwards to my doctors for more than 3 years because I was ill all the time, the doctor said I was run down then said I had anaemia, then unfortunately I was involved in a car accident, I was rushed to hospital to be asked if I had type 1 and I said no my doctor says I'm anaemic and then I'm told by the hospital NO you're type 1 diabetic.. After tests and bloods I found out that this is what I've had for way over 4 years unknowingly.. Can't trust the doctors sometimes..

Always look on the bright side

when I was finally told after being rushed to hospital my parents said they should have been a bit sad but they weren't they were relieved that I was finally starting to get back to my old self! suppose every cloud has a silver lining, it's terrible that you were in an accident but you finally got the answers you needed about your health! such a bloody roller coaster of emotions diabetes :/

Just goes to show drs do not know it all.
They say put your faith in drs but how can you when it took an accident to show you are type 1 diabetic.
Hope you are recovered ok and you have your diabetes under control destiny

I have the genetic haemochromatosis, and suspect that I may be on the border line for T2 diabetes. I feel more and more grotty, tired, unable to do much, want to sleep all the time, and get the odd dizzy spell when the room goes round. Bit like when you're really drunk and the bed goes round, except I very rarely drink anything alcoholic because I also have liver disease.

I am being treated for the haemochromatosis - they take a pint about every 2 -3 months. They told me that I couldn't donate blood, and just pour away what they take off, which is a waste as I am O Rhesus Negative, which can be used for everyone.

I'm seeing my liver specialist on Friday, and hoping that he will be able to throw some light on why I feel so awful. I can't help wondering if it is my diet, which is very carb intensive, but to be honest, I feel so low I just can't be bothered trying to do anything about it!!

I hope you manage to get something sorted, as it is no fun at all feeling like that.

I wouldnt get your hopes up as mine cannot answer that question, that said they did spot I had sleep apnea but even now that it's treated (is that the right word) by using a CPAP machine I still feel awful and tired most days.

Now I have anemia plus hemochromatosis and as the specialist suspected an internal bleed I got to enjoy earlier this week cameras up and down where the sun don't shine and they didn't find anything either.

Where I go from here time alone will tell.
