I have had muscle pains in legs and arms for a few weeks now the Doctor has given me compression stockings thinking it be varicus veins but not so sure as when I get up from sleeping the muscles in legs and arms hurt ? has anyone else had this or having this, never had this before but have had a very bad cough for ages and on third lot of antibiotics

I shal stop taking statins straight away and see if helps also get some magnesium as people seem to think this helps.

well he advised I stopped taking the statin while taking an antibiotic which I have now finished and still not taking the statin, pains in muscles not gone as of yet must say they are not very nice , as for cough had a chest Xray which came back normal so I am thinking some where near throat something is secreting mucus causing me to cough and seeing as have had Hypothyroidism since I was a teenager it could be something to do with that? I need make an appointment to see the Doctor (not easy to get past the receptionists these days ) and see if he can enlighten me on my thoughts

Are you insulin dependent ? If so, what type of insulin(s) are you using?

The reason I am asking is that I had huge problems with arm, shoulder and leg pain.

I discovered almost by accident that glargine based insulins are known to cause myalgia (muscle pain) in a small number of people. Not much help if you happen to be the 1 in 10,000 !

Persuaded my doctor to let me try Levemir (Detemir based insulin) and all my muscle pains went away.

Lantus, Abasaglar, Rezvoglar, Semglee and Toujeo are all glargine based.
