I was diagnosed type 2 circa 1 and 1/2 yes ago. Lost 15 kilos weight to manage sugars and all ok but have had muscle tremors for past month day and night in arms, legs, and torso. No pain or weakness but am worried. My sugar levels have been ok so don't think it's that. Anyone had similar experience?

Are you talking true tremors, or muscle twitches? I have had them (muscle twitching) for well over 3 years. Not sure if they are related to diabetes or not. Only been diabetic about 7 months.

Well done on your weight loss- are your blood sugars all at okay levels?

Either way I suggest you go back to your doctor. It may or may not be related to the diabetes. The doctor will be able to observe you and run tests.

Good luck.

Hi everyone, thanks for replying to me.
My sugar levels are under control, and I have not been taking any medication. I am getting both tremors and twitches, actually it's hard to differentiate the two. I have a doctor's appointment but no availability til 17 Dec ! Just hoping it's nothing too serious.

Let me see if I can help there.

Muscle tremors - are very regular movements, categorised into fine and coarse.

Muscle twitches - a much greater excursion, usually a one off. You might like to look up 'myoclonic jerks' for a good explanation.

They are usually explained as idiopathic, or drug induced. At the moment, I can't recall diabetic pills being commonly associated with it.

Of course, there are a couple of 'biggies' which are uncommon causes, and you really do need a good doctor's evaluation.

Good luck.
