I have a 3 year old daughter and for over a year now has had varying sugar levels, she has had several hospital admissions, because on two occasions we struggled to wake her, we gave her sugar water and a chocolate bar and she recovers ok usually

on each hospital visit, they keep her in for 24 hours to monitor her levels and send her home each time, claiming she is ok, even though we have shown them the sugar level readings from her monitor, they even prescribed another monitor as they claimed her monitor was not accurate.

recently she had a reading of 21.5 and as low as 2.0 and we are now making notes and times/dates

we contacted our local GP today and they said they cannot medicate her and if concerned to take her to hospital, but each time we take her to hospital she has already recovered because we have had to intervene and give her sugar, the last time the ambulance service attended, they recorded a hypoglycaemic attack.

The last hospital visit also state they cannot find records of her attending for low sugar issues, we have since found each and every discharge letter

we feel horribly let down and are so so worried and feel no one is taking us seriously..

we are at our wits end with the hospital and local GP

I have asked my partner to contact the endocrine team in Manchester, to which our doctor put in a referral a few months ago, so we are chasing this...

any advice please?

do we have to leave our daughter in a state where she struggles to wake so the hospital will take us seriously? it is so **** frustrating!

She has not been diagnosed with diabetes but all the signs are there, we do not understand why that every time she goes into hospital there is never any follow on check etc

She is sleepy a lot of the time and just not herself

Hi @starman316 and welcome to the forums.

It's good that you are chasing the endocrinologist referral. This sounds well beyond the scope of most GPs.

What are you using to test your daughter's blood sugars?
