My Doc Says ...

lessci- am recently diagnosed and would appreciate your take on porridge

Porridge is one of those things that some can take and some can't. I thought I was OK from 2 hr test, then tested at 1 hr and had BGs over 10. Some make it from different forms of oats. As always, all you can do is test (when you have your meter) to see how it affects you personally and what you are prepared to accept as a spike.

I had my review a couple of weeks ago with the 'diabetic nurse'. Actually she may be for real, she must weigh 16 stone! The reivew if to have 15 minutes to fully review my condition.... It was a complete waste of time, I think I know more about T2 than she does. She did a finger test, which was 6.7, which was 'fine'. She didn't know I just had lunch! It might have been good or bad..

Best one was though. 'Your HB1 is 42, that's 6.5 in old money so right on target' I said, no, 42 is 6.0.
