Hey you guys!
Newly informed I'm pre-diabetic. A little bit confused by the info on this website regarding what numbers I should be seeing... yikes!
Just started testing myself and here are my numbers in the morning before I've eaten anything. These are sometimes before a little run I do now, sometimes after... darn that's prob wrong to do that? Anyway...
09/11 - 6.3
10/11 - 5.2
11/11 - 5.5
12/11 - 5.2
13/11 - 5.5
14/11 - 5.4
15/11 - 5.9
I've tested myself a bunch of other times but I wont bore you with those numbers, the tests have been a bit random, timing wise i.e. post prandial tests have not been exactly 2 hours after which they should be right?
I've been running daily (not for long 15-17 mins) and my diet has changed quite a lot in the last 3-4 weeks since being told I'm 'pre'... I've lost 5 pounds and am now at 12st 7. I'm only 5'6'' so that still makes my BMI 28.2 (Blimey, even when I was in good shape a few years ago I was never the 8st 3lb - the NHS starting number - and maybe not even as low as the max they recommend of 11st 2lb for my height but that's what I'm aiming for I guess...)
Previous diet wasn't too bad but I did have a great love of fruit (not juice) and ate a lot of that because I thought fruit can't be bad for you right?! And a fair bit of white rice, pasta and potatoes... Eliminated all of that now, except for the fruit but I limit myself to 2-3 pieces per day (pears and apples) which is maybe too much?
Oh my blood test gizmo is Sinocare but I didn't see that make listed when I signed up here, so maybe it's crapola and giving me all bad readings!? Had a high customer satisfaction score on Amazon but that might not mean much?
Oh I'm a 57 year old bloke...
Thanks for reading and thanks for any feedback, advice etc.
