Is this normal?

When I eat and exercise I get readings of 125 after meal. But next day when I wake up my sugar reads somewhere around 140 in the morning well I wake up late like 12 noon so yeah.

I have Type 2 and am taking metformin but its only been 6 days it needs a few weeks to start working I reckon.

it´s been the same for me since the first time I tested.. my morning blood glucose is higher than all other numbers through the days... it is caused by our livers de-livering much to much glucose to compensate hungers in the morning

It's called Dawn phenomenon. This is when your liver delivers glucagon into your blood stream to give your body a boost to start you off in the mornings, just in case you don't replenish your glucose levels by eating.
There are many threads and plenty of suggestions.
Your testing would be more explanatory and more understanding if you test pre meal then two hours after first bite.
