Just thought I'd share my experience.

So been doing not much today, and decided to start making dinner. Happily chopping up veg and started feeling something wasn't quite right. Felt a bit out of it, hands started shaking and went a bit wobbly, so did a quick blood test and.. 3.2!

So a new low score, the meter flashed at me.. and after a mug of hot, sweet tea am back to normal. Well, normal for me anyway.

But it was something I'd kind of been hoping for, simply so I could experience it and know what to look out for in the future. Not sure why it happened today as I'd not been doing anything different.

Glad you came to no harm, my limited experience is that it can come on very quickly. No longer taking Gliclazide and I don't cut the grass any more, both contributing to my rare hypos in the past.

I know what you mean.
When I was first diagnosed and started my insulin, a colleague with diabetes suggested I forced a controlled hypo.
This helped me understand what it felt like, what to expect and, taking away some of the unknown took away some of the fear.
I would not want to encourage hypos but as a one off, I found this useful.

Glad you came to no harm and have recovered.

Thank you. I guess it's riskier, and possibly easier to do a controlled hypo as a T1. As a T2, they're apparently less common. And it's one thing to read about symptoms, and another to experience them.

I agree that it takes away some of the fear. I had a sense that something was wrong, unusual and enough sense to do a glucose test.. And as it was unexpected, I think I'll start carrying my meter and some glucose if I'm going to be out and about.

I’ve had hypos before and never noticed them my lowest and scariest hypo was when I was 2.7
