My husband is overweight and I keep telling him he should get his bs checked. This evening he used my bs monitor and 2 hours after his tea his bs level was...4.4. he hadn't eaten anything sugary but had had quite alot of bread. He had also just drank a mug of hot chocolate. Now he will just think I am nagging.

Why?
Or as they say "lucky b*st*rd"
I hope he continues this way, but feeding him a better diet and helping him lose a bit of weight can never hurt.

i agree, there are many other reasons to be healthy and many other horrible things that being overweight can cause, on saying that if i had not been dx db i wouldnt listen so.... good luck with that :)

it does make you think why? I will persevere in getting him to lose weight...

I'm glad he's ok.
If he's like me, nagging won't work, just feed him stuff he likes, that's healthy, rather than buy the biscuits and donuts.

LOL good luck in trying. Unfortunately he's got to want to lose the weight for himself and pressuring him into it will backfire.
My Mom has tried this tactic with my Dad for at least 30 years. Alas, he eats sensibly in her presence, but at night when she's gone to bed out come the cheese, biscuits, crisps etc, and his truck is full of chocolate wrappers! As they say, you can lead a horse to water...
