I've been a bit of a lurker here for a while, so it's beyond time that I join and introduce myself.
I'm 44, and have had T2D for around 10 years. I'm insulin dependent and have been pretty much since the beginning. I use Toujeo, Novarapid, and also Ozempic and Metformin. I've only been able to maintain control for short periods of time over the years, until I bit the bullet and subscribed to Dexcom One+ five weeks ago, and the game has changed for me. I'm currently learning all about my body and how carbs and insulin interact.
My plan is to get my hba1c down (106 in January, 84 last month) and then figure out how to lose weight whilst on insulin high doses of insulin (I am horribly insulin resistant).
I'm active but very overweight and would love to change that!
I live on a narrowboat with my husband and dog, and we travel the Midlands waterways.
Good to be here, and I look forward to interacting on this forum.
