My LDL has gone up on LCHF Diet

If you wanted to be sure, you would have to get an Apolipoprotein B test done. You can do this privately in the UK. I haven't done it, because my HDL is high, my trigs low and the HDL/LDL ratio good. The ApoB test tells you the number of LDL particles, which is the gold standard risk indicator. Not particle size so much.
Hi @LucySW my HDL is 1/8, LDL 3.1 and Triglycerides 0.8 which I think is quite good but how do I work out HDL/LDL ratio?

You just look at the numbers. 1.8/3.1 is quite good: your HDL is high compared to the LDL (more than half). Trigs/HDL should be < 0.8 and yours is, so that all looks good. Most important is that for trigs, lowest is best.

Thanks - more ammo in my discussions with the DN when she tries to prescribe statins!!
