Hi Girls and Gals,
I have only recently been diagnosed as a Diabetic in November 2017. I have had the numerous hypers, no hypos thankfully but I am starting to notice a trend in my morning blood sugar readings and I see no reason for it.
Every morning when I wake up my sugar is either 8.4 or 8.5. This is if I don't eat a bag of sugar the night before.
I take a fast-acting and a basal insulin but I don't understand how it results in that figuire, is it just a coincidence or could my body be regulating it to a certain extent. I still haven't been given a propler picture when I ask as to what kind of diabetes I have but my Diabetic Nurse will always start sentences like "Now with type 1 diabetes....".
I had always had access to glucometers as I have been part of a voluntry ambulance with a few years and and at the first wrong blood sugar reading I atttended my GP. My GP sent me to hospital with blood sugar levels at 29 but when blood tests were performed I still had insulin in my blood (insulin resistence?).
If somone is able to shed some light on this I would be very interested.
