Latest up date had op to try and clear my fistula yesterday (Thursday)) unfortunately it wasn’t successful so they are thinking of putting a temporary line in my neck which is basically a cannula in the main vein in my neck. I think the plan is now to try on last till Tuesday where they have arranged to get a more permanent line in my chest so I’m in hospital till Tuesday.. every cloud has a silver line I managed to get my A cast for my new prothetic today so I’ve been quite busy, as we had physio today as well. Hopefully I should get my new prosthetic in 10 days to a fortnights time. I haven’t had the dialysis since last Saturday all my blood results seem okay and luckily for me I’m still peeing which you might be surprised to know that a lot of people on dialysis don’t pee. Imagine that not having to get up in the middle of the night, LOL so as long as my blood results are okay I should get a more permanent line in my chest on Tuesday. Another good thing I’m back on the kidney transplant list after being off duty to the infection in my foot so not such a bad day I had steak pie for dinner ha ha ha ha ha ha.
You've certainly been keeping the staff busy. Hope all goes well and you get home soon.Latest up date had op to try and clear my fistula yesterday (Thursday)) unfortunately it wasn’t successful so they are thinking of putting a temporary line in my neck which is basically a cannula in the main vein in my neck. So what's the news on your fistula and dialysis, and what are the updates on you new leg and physio progress?I think the plan is now to try on last till Tuesday where they have arranged to get a more permanent line in my chest so I’m in hospital till Tuesday
Fistula is knackered given up the ghost so was in hospital for 10 days getting new line in my chest I went 9 days without dialysis amazing really and I felt ok got a bit tired at the end but blood results were good , physio well that’s once a week but I missed first one due to hospital visit, I’m at home alone as my brother went back home I’m getting use to things but it’s so frustrating , I didn’t realise how much you need your legs everything takes so much longer but I’m handling it swearing a lot but handling it ,think I’ve invented a new language goes something like %&#@% **&&££# &&((**# Jesus &&££##@ lolSo what's the news on your fistula and dialysis, and what are the updates on you new leg and physio progress?
Aw that is great to hear from you. So glad your coming along nicely. You've got great attitude after all you've been through. You'll be entering the marathon before we know it. Very best wishes to you.Haven’t updated this for a wee while so thought I’d sort it out for those who want to know , been doing physio once a week for last couple of weeks all going well , walking along parallel bars walking with a zimmer and when I say walking I don’t mean with my new leg but with PPAM aid , it’s great practice but me being me it’s just not happening fast enough but that’s just me, and yes I have fallen ( I’ve got no legs it comes with the territory lol ) but no harm done just character building . Good news though I get me new leg fitting on Thursday , so hopefully I’ll be able to bring it home and take it to physio next Tuesday
Now if they think I’m not going to have that leg on til next Tuesday they are having a laugh.it'll be on as soon as I get home lol got to give it a go .im not expecting to be walking straight away but I don’t expect to be sitting on my bum in a wheel chair , if I can get about with crutches for a few hours ( I’m joking ) that’s better than what I have now , everything in a wheel chair is always just out of the way but I am grateful for it , so I’ll let you ken what happens on Thursday never know might even get some pics .
Thank you so muchAw that is great to hear from you. So glad your coming along nicely. You've got great attitude after all you've been through. You'll be entering the marathon before we know it. Very best wishes to you.
Hi @Ushthetaff , I think Billy Connelly might have beat you to that one in the 80's with get-tu-fu you little bas-ta as a way to get around swearing in front of the kids.,think I’ve invented a new language goes something like %&#@% **&&££# &&((**# Jesus &&££##@ lol
No new fistula as yet just using the line in my chest , it’s ok but I do prefer fistula . They are taking bout a new one and I have an appointment in October with the renal department , I have also been put back on the transplant list which is good , I got a letter today asking if I would accept a Hep C infected donor kidney my initial reaction is no thanks but have to look into it with ask some expert advice I’m surrounded by it in dialysis .I'm so glad you're okay! Did you get a new fistula for dialysis
Total quality love old billyHi @Ushthetaff , I think Billy Connelly might have beat you to that one in the 80's with get-tu-fu you little bas-ta as a way to get around swearing in front of the kids.

Well reading the “bumff” that came with it there is a risk of liver cancer blah blah ad other cancers to to anti rejection drugs etc, I suppose it’s what is greater risk like every decision I life really some more risky than others but so to are the rewards I guess. I’ll ask some people in the know and make a decision I suppose it’ll matter what age I am when /if offered I’m not going to dwell on it the now I’ve got a leg to get acquainted with oh my another wedding lol think I’ve had enough of themAnd what did the experts say? Is it safe? after the transplant, you will have to suppress your own immunity.
I’ve been home for over 2 weeks so am getting use to familiar surroundings, it’s quite interesting how you adapt. I’m not getting any help with regard cooking or anything else, really I’m totally independent or really stubborn lol,So you’re home again, hooray. Back to a familiar place.
That new leg looks very stylish - loving the blue colour.
I imagine the new ways of putting both legs within easy reach when you go to bed, making sure they don’t fall over, having ways to get places or think ahead if you’ll be in a hurry is quite a challenge.
Will you have help with cooking, shopping, house cleaning?
Is that good rich red wall yours? Great colour.
