My phone broke (Libre help)

Well my iPhone broke and I still have a week left on my libre. I can't use the reader now as the sensor is linked to the app on my phone.
Anyone else have this issue? Is there a solution?

Can you borrow an old smartphone from a friend? You can use the same sensor with another phone. Any ancient Samsung will do.

Except that it probably wont cos you can only pair the phone or reader in the first 60 min setup of the sensor - least I think that's the case (though I may be wrong)

You can't pair 2 phones at the same time but if you attempt to scan with another phone it will ask you if you want to switch to that one.
I did so a couple of times without a problem.
If I remember correctly you will lose the old data stored in the app though.

Can try another phone see if it will work

Otherwise no solution

In the future start it with the reader.. the straight after with the phone... that way you will have a backup solution
 
In different circumstances I have switched phones. Admittedly prepared with two live phones. First backup the old phone, then restore to the new one.

The process is Covered elsewhere here.

Now, no backup? I'm wondering if a) you are automatically backing up to Google drive, and b) if you can restore the app from that.

If you reset a phone to factory state it will ask if you want to restore apps from a backup. Never tried it but worth investigating.

PS this method fools libreview into thinking it's the same device too.
