Has anyone suggested an ear infection.. I used to get them as a kid hurt like hell and needed antibiotics to treat.Started about a month ago pain in mouth & face I took pain killers it passed then returned it felt like tooth ache so of to the dentist yes a wisdom tooth had movement but x rays showed no immediate problem come back in 6 months with view to extraction Ok that explained the possible pain so kept car windows closed used a winter scarf & once more the pain returned - never had anything like it before I dont like to admit it was so bad I had to cry & could not sleep more pain killers & another trip to the dentist more x rays same result - annoyed me a bit saying if still have problems come back if you want so I consulted my mate Dr Google & read about trig neuralgia it described the pain perfect & that painkillers would not help although they made me feel worse - so eventually I went to the Doctor
Oh if Id known it was that Dr I wouldnt have gone - You have diabetes she asked, yes she wrote a prescription more painkillers I mentioned the dentist comment yes it could be she said a blood test should tell us so since I stopped taking any painkillers I started to feel better but mild attacks one side mouth to ear usually if I eat & it is about 3 hours before it goes, I had a phone call from the Doctors office book in to see diabetic nurse Oh it must be the blood glucose being high well I no longer have sugar at all I have doubled upon metformin & others about 3 months ago there was insulin mentioned before so Im guessing that will be next so do I wait & suffer or go back & say look will you please give me the anti convulsant I think I need to stop this blooming evil pain - any thoughts or advice from fellow sufferers would be appreciated

Do you have your blood sugar test figures please? And does the GP think it is type 1 or type 2 diabetes?
Hello there - you say you have no blood sugar at all. That's unlikely, so I am assuming you mean you have healthy levels. Do you know what those are? Do you follow any sort of dietary regime?
Trigeminal neuralgia is a vile condition, and I can think of a couple of members diagnosed with this. Most recently, if I recall accurately, @lucylocket61 (hope you're well, Lucy), and @LooperCat who, again if I recall accurately, found hers went away on a keto style diet.
Typically, being sporadic, it becomes difficult to definitively diagnose, eliminate or treat.
Has anyone offered you pain relief at all?
Has your GP looked at a possible recurring sinus infection?Erm yes I meant to say I take no sugar in diet & I eat quite healthily dont smoke drink small amount red wine - I dont excercise & I am overweight also have had major depression for a long long time
The cocodomol made me much worse & horrible painfull constipation since I dithched that drug felt so much better & so happy just being able to go to the loo........
