hi i'm Sam, i'm 34 years old and was diagnosed with gestational diabetes with my 3rd child 6 years ago. the diabetes remained leaving me with type 2 diabetes. unfortunately tablets have failed to reduce my blood sugars and so I have just been put on to insulin as I am desperate to try for another baby after losing my daughter at 20 Weeks pregnant September 11. when pregnant I have had to be on large doses of insulin which still failed to reduce my blood sugars. I really struggle with diet and exercise and desperately need to lose weight and also quit smoking.

Hi Sam...

I was similar in that I had GD in my last pregnancy controlled by insulin and I'm now left type 2, Im 31.

Firstly, so sorry for your loss last year :( such an awful thing to happen.

I would concentrate on one thing at a time as an action plan really...

Quit smoking THEN build up the exercise which will then help with weight loss. Have you asked your GP for help on giving up smoking??

If you concentrate on small steps, then the bigger picture will be easier to achieve.
